PrestaShop Integration

This guide will help you add an AI-powered chatbot to your PrestaShop store in just a few simple steps.

1. Prerequisites​

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • An active AI SmartTalk account
  • Admin access to your PrestaShop store
  • A few minutes of your time

2. Downloading the Plugin​

  1. Log in to your AI SmartTalk account
  2. Go to Integration in the main menu
  3. Find the PrestaShop section
  4. Click the Download button to save the plugin ZIP file to your computer

3. Installation on PrestaShop​

  1. Log in to your PrestaShop admin dashboard
  2. Navigate to Modules > Module Manager
  3. Click the Upload a module button at the top
  4. Select the AI SmartTalk ZIP file you downloaded
  5. Click Upload this module
  6. Once uploaded, click Install and confirm any prompts
  7. The module will install automatically

4. Configuring the Plugin​

  1. After installation, go to the AI SmartTalk module settings
  2. You'll need two important pieces of information:
    • Chat Model ID
    • Chat Model Token
  3. To find these:
    • Go back to your AI SmartTalk account
    • Navigate to Integration section
    • Copy both the ID and Token (use the copy buttons if available)
  4. Return to PrestaShop and paste these values in the corresponding fields
  5. Click Save to store your settings

5. Data Synchronization​

  1. In the AI SmartTalk module settings, find the Synchronize tab
  2. Click on Synchronize Store Data
  3. Wait while your products, categories, and other store information are sent to the chatbot
  4. You'll see a success message when synchronization is complete and your prestashop products will be visible in your Knowledge page in AI Smarttalk's back office

6. Customizing Your Chatbot​

  1. In the theme settings, explore the Appearance tab
  2. Here you can customize:
    • Chatbot position (bottom right, bottom left, etc.)
    • Color scheme to match your store
    • Chat bubble text and icon
    • Welcome message
  3. Make any changes you want and click Save

7. Testing Your Chatbot​

  1. Visit your PrestaShop store's front end
  2. You should see the chat bubble in the bottom right
  3. Click on it to open the chat window
  4. Try asking a question about your products
  5. The chatbot should respond with accurate information from your store

8. Common Issues​

The plugin won't install​

  • Make sure your PrestaShop version is compatible (works with 1.7 and 8.x)
  • Check that you have enough server memory for installation
  • Try disabling other modules temporarily if you have conflicts

The chatbot doesn't appear on your site​

  • Check that you've enabled the chatbot in the module settings
  • Clear your browser cache and reload the page
  • Make sure your theme doesn't have code that might block the chatbot

Product information is incorrect or missing​

  • Run the synchronization process again
  • Make sure your products have complete information in PrestaShop
  • Wait a few minutes as synchronization can take time for large stores
