Enable your AI assistant to track parcels and shipments in real-time using Ship24's global carrier network. Customers can ask your chatbot about their delivery status, and the AI automatically fetches live tracking data from 200+ carriers worldwide.

Overview

The Parcel Tracking integration enables your AI assistant to:

  • Track shipments in real-time from 200+ carriers
  • Answer delivery questions through natural language conversations
  • Support multiple carriers including DHL, FedEx, UPS, La Poste, and more
  • Auto-detect carriers based on tracking number format
  • Provide delivery updates with current status and location

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • An active AI SmartTalk account with a premium plan
  • A Ship24 API key (provided by AI SmartTalk or self-managed)

How It Works

  1. Customer provides a tracking number in conversation
  2. AI SmartTalk identifies the appropriate carrier based on your configuration
  3. The tracking tool queries Ship24's API for real-time data
  4. AI formulates a natural language response with the shipment status

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Access Parcel Tracking

  1. Log into your AI SmartTalk account
  2. Navigate to AdministrationMy Assistants[Your Assistant Name]
  3. Click on Connectors in the left sidebar
  4. Locate Parcel Tracking and click on it

Step 2: Enable the Integration

  1. Switch the Enable toggle to on
  2. The integration activates with Ship24's carrier network

Step 3: Select Carriers

Choose which carriers your AI assistant should support:

  1. Go to the Carriers tab
  2. Browse or search the carrier list (200+ available)
  3. Select the carriers relevant to your business
  4. Optionally, click Popular Carriers to quickly select the most common ones

Each carrier shows:

  • Carrier name and code
  • Country of origin
  • Postal service badge (if applicable)
  • Required fields for tracking

Step 4: Save Configuration

Click Save to activate the selected carriers. Your AI assistant now has carrier-specific tracking tools available.

AI Tool Generation

When you select carriers, AI SmartTalk dynamically generates tracking tools for your AI assistant:

  • Single carrier selected: Creates a dedicated tool (e.g., DhlTrackingTool)
  • Multiple carriers selected: Creates carrier-specific tools for each
  • Tools are named descriptively: Helps the AI choose the right carrier based on the user's query

The AI assistant automatically:

  1. Recognizes when a user is asking about a shipment
  2. Selects the appropriate carrier tool
  3. Extracts the tracking number from the conversation
  4. Queries Ship24 for real-time data
  5. Returns a formatted, human-readable status update
