WhatsApp

Your assistant can answer on WhatsApp Business automatically. The Meta OAuth that connects Messenger and Instagram covers WhatsApp too — one click, three channels.

Video tutorial

One OAuth click connects Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp

Connect it

If you've already connected Messenger, WhatsApp can be enabled from the same OAuth flow:

  1. Go to Integrations → WhatsApp in the admin (or revisit the Meta integration).
  2. In the Meta consent screen, tick the WhatsApp Business phone number(s) you want to authorize.
  3. Save. The phone number(s) appear with status Connected.

No WhatsApp Business setup yet? You'll need a WhatsApp Business account first — Meta requires it for the API. The setup happens in Meta Business Suite, not in AI SmartTalk.

What customers experience

Customers message your WhatsApp Business number like they'd message a friend. Your assistant replies in seconds, in their language, using your knowledge base. Every conversation appears in the unified Inbox with the WhatsApp icon.

Multiple phone numbers

Got several numbers (one for sales, one for support, one per region)? Connect them all. Same assistant by default, or different assistants per number if you split SmartFlows by phone.

Compliance reminder

WhatsApp has stricter rules than other channels — customer-initiated only by default, and you have to use approved templates for proactive messages outside the 24-hour reply window. Set those up in Meta Business Suite; the assistant respects them automatically.

  • Messenger — same OAuth flow with screencaptures
  • Instagram — same OAuth flow
  • Inbox — handle WhatsApp conversations
